Clinical experience
Marina began working in the counselling field in 2017 after her B.A. honours Sociology degree. She later earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) and began providing psychotherapy to individuals in 2021.
Marina has many years of experience providing mental health support, especially to women & members of the immigrant community.
Lived experience
Marina is in her 30’s and is a cat mom. She is an Egyptian-Canadian second generation immigrant, cis woman, and 2SLGBTQ+ ally.
Marina has experience being raised by immigrant parents, navigating identity and sense of belonging among two cultures. She is working towards reconnecting to ancestral Coptic roots through nature and Indigenous knowledge.
Education: B.A Sociology and Religious studies. Master of Social Work (MSW) from Carleton University.
Primary therapy styles: Feminist therapy, Anti-oppressive, client centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Narrative therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Memberships/Registration: registered social worker (RSW) with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
