Addiction Therapy in Ottawa:
Individual addiction therapy is available to members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community aged 14 to 64.
Addictions work can be integrated into relational therapy (couples counselling and family therapy).
Addiction therapy is not only helpful for people struggling with alcohol consumption and drug use, it can also address problematic behaviours like gambling, shopping, video gaming, etc.
Connect to Calm operates from a harm reduction approach – clients choose when & how much to reduce their substance use, drinking, shopping, gambling, &/or other problematic behaviours. A customized Treatment Plan & Sobriety Plan will help you stay on track with goals & to plan for relapses.
Substance use often starts as a way to manage trauma reactions. These coping mechanisms were helpful in the short-term but are now causing a lot of negative consequences. We can address addiction & past trauma with collaborative decisions about how we focus on each piece.

Harm Reduction
Addiction therapy can be one piece of a complete support network to assist you with your recovery goals. In addition to individual addiction therapy, you may also want to take advantage of peer support groups & other community services. We can assist you with referrals to programs & services to complement individual therapy.
Artificial Intelligence
Clients who are recovering from an AI relationship break-up or who have developed a problematic reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) companions (ChatGPT, Claude, Replika, etc.) may find therapy helpful as you transition back to more offline-focused social circles.
Connect to therapy that is calming, mindful, trauma-informed, feminist, sex-positive, & queer-friendly.
